Coaching
Coaching
Coaching is a collaborative, goal-focused process that helps individuals clarify their objectives, overcome obstacles, and unlock their potential. Using Insights Discovery and through structured conversation, reflection, and practical challenge, coaching builds self-awareness, confidence, and capability, enabling people to take purposeful action and achieve sustainable personal and professional growth.
Coaching Process
Although every coaching situation is unique this is what a typical coaching programme might look like.
A coaching agreement typically consists of 90 minute sessions delivered over a period of three to nine months. The agreement is personal to the individual needs of the coachee as they travel through the process. Coaching can be delivered face to face or virtually and typically has a ‘check in’ between each session. A coaching relationship starts with an initial chemistry session. This session is all about rapport and both parties establishing the relationship, boundaries and managing expectations. It’s then usually bespoke to a coachee’s needs, but the following could be a typical framework.
Step 1 – Self-awareness

Depending on the coachee’s needs, the process often begins with the Insights Discovery, which provides a deep understanding of individual behaviour and preferences. This assessment creates an immediate awareness that is not only impactful but also highly practical, offering insights that can be applied in real-world situations from the outset. The tool highlights strengths, identifies potential challenges, and uncovers hidden patterns in behaviour that may affect performance or relationships. When combined with the guidance of a coach, it enables the coachee to explore blind spots, consider alternative approaches, and develop actionable strategies for growth. Through reflection and structured discussion, the coachee gains clarity on how to leverage strengths, address limitations, and enhance overall effectiveness, ensuring that the learning is both meaningful and sustainable over time. This approach supports continuous development, fostering greater self-awareness, confidence, and adaptability in personal and professional contexts.
Step 2 – Grow

In phase two, the coachee often experiences “lightbulb” moments, gaining fresh insights that naturally lead to concrete actions. This stage fosters accountability, reinforces commitment to follow-through, and provides an opportunity to explore deeper needs. It also allows for the refinement and realignment of both short-term and long-term goals, ensuring that progress is purposeful, measurable, and aligned with the coachee’s overall development journey.
Step 3 – Deeper Dive

This phase is adaptable, tailored to the coachee’s progress, needs, and goals. It may include tools such as the Insights Discovery Full Circle (360 feedback report) to deepen self-awareness and strengthen commitment, gathering direct input from peers/colleagues, or maintaining a flexible approach that responds to the coachee’s evolving achievements and objectives. The concluding session is dedicated to equipping the individual with the insights, strategies, and confidence needed to sustain their ongoing journey of personal and professional development.
